The Twilight War: Alison Dampeareth Awoke.
Alison Dampearth Awoke as a child in NYC. Had things been different
she may have followed in the once proud tradition in her family of
being shamans and speakers to the spirits, but those who would have
recognized a young dreamwalker were not there when the spirits came to
her. Modern psychiatry was.
Her stay in the common ward in Bellvue was short and painful but
fortunately, before she was destroyed, an Enlightened psychaitrist
found her and brought her to a special unit for kids with "Acute
Perception Disorder" - APD. After several months of learning to
handle her new abilities, Alison Dampearth was enrolled in the Curie
Academy, a private high school run by the NWO for children who Awake
early and need proper training.
Ali loved Curie. It was an outstanding school. Her years there
passed quickly and she found herself, to her surprise, headed to
Harvard. Upon graduation from Curie, all of the students formally
entered a Convention and she chose the New World Order. At that point
she changed her surname to the less conspicuious Jones.
At Harvard she studed cognitive psychology and anthropology. She
expected to stay in the more erudite Ivory Tower but her analytic
skills were noticed by the MiB. She was invited to intern with them
and then, upon her graduation, she formally entered their ranks. She
spent a few years in the FBI and then moved to working on
all-Elightened teams in the MiB. She is the prodigy of Agent Smith
and she loves what she does. She firmly believes in the oaths she
took to protect humanity.
The other thing that happened at Harvard was that a friend from Curie,
a young aspiring Progenitor named Karen, became somewhat more than a
friend. Karen was a year behind Ali at Harvard. For a while they were
somewhat stormy, on again, off again, lovers. Over time the
relationship solidified and they formalized their relationship when
Karen graduated. They share a house in Arlington, as Ali's story
begins.
