The day before roleplay starts a tanker has flipped on rt 93, just south of the city. It's contents of petrol spill across the road causing massive damages. 30 people are reported dead due to the accident proper, and the subsiquent conflaguration.
The characters have met up in Liberty Cafe for an open mic night. They discuss quietly various things, mostly talking about the accident. Euclid begins to worry that the 'accident' wasn't really and accident at all, rather it was an attempt to assasinate someone of importence.
After finding a list of people, through traditional hacking, that died but where not reported in the paper he decides to enter the Digital Web to find out some more information. Ryan having offered to try more 'conventional' magickal methods agrees to acompany him. The two enter the Web (Euclid through projection, Ryan through VR goggles), and head to a nearby hospital icon. The others continue quiet conversation in the real world while Rachel forms a mental link with Ryan so she can monitor them on their travels, and tell Niccolo to pull the plug if he has to.
They make their way into the hospital and to the records section fairly quickly and easily. Once in the records room problems start happening. The 'nurse' on duty there preforms her program admirably but Euclid matches her, producing false identifacation, and continues his queery. When asked for the nature of treatment Euclid stalls and Ryan pipes in with 'Overdose'. The nurse nods and hands Ryan a report about 4 teenagers who where brought in badly burned then sent to the detox unit because they overdosed on an 'unknown drug'.
Euclid continues to try to retrive more information, but after a few failed queeries the computer activates it security system and locks the two in so they can't escape. Rachel sensing the problem tells Niccolo to pull the plug, which he does. The two men are instantly snapped back into Reality, Euclid ending up only slightly dizzy due to his expierence, but Ryan procedes to throw up on himself (it's a good thing it's Liberty where such behaviour, while not encouraged, is still not uncommon.)
On the list was the name of person that Ryan occasionally drugs from, and after being cleaned up and lent spare cloaths from Niccolo, and having his system settled a bit by a really tasty tea that Leigh gave him, Ryan and Niccolo go to the Pit. There they talk to a few folks, Ryan scores some cheap speed, and they find out the guy (Gerbil) who was in the report was supposedly hanging out last night with everyone else, not in the hospital detox unit covered in burns like he was supposed to be.
This sets off all sorts of alarms in everyone's head and they all pile into Niccolo's car and drive to the hospital (in the middle of the night). Niccolo hatches a plan to get inside and see Gerbil to try to find out the whole story. A 'jonny' is stolen from the hospital and Ryan dresses in it, then he an Niccolo head into the hospital, eventually making their way to the detox centre. Euclid, Rachel, and Leigh stay in the car.
Eventually they find Gerbil's room and the door is locked. Ryan shifts his point of perception so that he can see in the room. It is indeed gerbil's room, but he's not alone in there and he starts to get a 'bad feeling' about it. He returns and tells Niccolo who them starts trying various other doors. They find an unlocked room, and try to get out onto the window ledge. Unfortunetly the window ledge isn't wide enough so they go back in and head into the hall, at which point the duty nurse notices Ryan.
Ryan quickly stumbles back into the room and falls onto the bed moaning. They nurse, oblivious to Niccolo, enters and helps Ryan into bed, apologizing for the Hospital's computer system that apparently lost his paper work. She left him there and locked the door on her way out. Niccolo followed her and tried to steal the keys from her but it didn't work and she sounded the security alarm.
Niccolo then took the keys from her, at gun point, and made his way down the hall to hide. Ryan hearing the alarms go off, decided to lay low, and to try to cover his 'mage tracks' by putting up a mind shield, so that he appearred to be a normal sleeping junkie.
It's didn't work. In fact what ended up happening was the equilivent to Ryan screaming "I'm a reality devient!"[1]
Suddenly the detox wing flooded with SWAT officers who pulled a trembling freaking out Ryan from his his bed at shotgun point and held him on the floor. This is when the MIB showed up.
Meanwhile every mind mage in the city heard Ryan including his cohorts. Rachel used a correspondence/mind effect to locate him and get his general well being. Euclid started hacking into the Hospital security system once he heard the alarms go off, contacted Niccolo by cell phone.
After a few minutes Euclid hacked the system and started setting off alarms all over the library, issueing an announcement that it was malfunctioning. The MiB, helps Ryan up and gets him to the Nurses' station and lets him calm down, while he (the MiB) goes and chews out the SWAT captain for disturbing this poor young man who was trying to get his life right.
Niccolo comes around the corner and gets into a macho contest with the MiB. Ryan starts getting taken back to 'his' room.

The fire alarm starts going off just before Ryan is brought to his room, when the guards escorting him take him outside where the rest of the patients have evacuated the building. Rachel manages to 'jedi mind trick' the guards into helping someone else so that Ryan has enough time to dive into the car as it pulls away. They go around the corner and Niccolo dives in as well as the car full pull off into the night.
As they drive away, Ryan lights a ciggerette while Leigh patches up Niccolo's wound.
