The session started with Rachel and Eric running into each other and beginging to discuss some things Rachel had discovered regarding the Fire on 93. Eventually Leigh came along and the three of them set off to the Old North Church to find a Father Joseph, whom Rachel's Mentor had informed them might be able to help.
As they headed over who happened to be cycling along puffing on a big spliff but Ryan. They caught his attention, told him their plan and agreed to meet him at the church.
Ryan arrived first and the others quickly after him. Eric led the group into the church and the began looking around.
Ryan hanging near the back as the others looked around (partially from being so stoned, partically from being an ex-catholic) and was approached by an older gentleman dressed like a Rabbi. After shouting a brief exchange with the somewhat oblivious party members and informing the Rabbi that they where there to see Father Joseph, the rabbi informed Ryan that Father Joseph was out running errands but would be back soon.
At this point everyone turned to see Ryan talking to thin air.
An older gentlemen with gleaming blue eyes, dressed in a cassok, stepped out from the nave and asked if he could help the odd looking crew. Eric took the role of liason for the freaks admirably and explained that they where looking for a 'Father Joseph' while Leigh asked Ryan who he was just talking to.
Ryan responded with a mumbled 'some Rabbi', while the priest introduced himself as father Joseph. A quick oracular consulting of the change in his pocket confirmed this for Eric.
They went further into the church, lead by Father Joseph into a nicely appointed sitting room, and introduced themselves one by one.
The Priest seemed most interested in the vision of the Rabbi that Ryan had. It turns out that the other Keeper of this chantry (the Old North Church) was one Rabbi Ben Ezra, who had perished in the tanker explosion on 93.
The crew agreed to help the Father figure out what had happened to Ben. Father Joseph then produced a cross hung from a thin silver chain from around his neck. In the centere of the cross was a small glass sphere with a fragment of wood inside. He passed it around to each of the mages, then kneeled to the floor and began to pray. Finally he stood and held it out to Ryan, "It called most strongly to you. It will help you follow Ben's path that day."
The group left the church with Father Joseph getting ready for evening mass. The ran into Niccolo as they left the church and let him know what's going on. Rachel examined the cross and said "We should be really careful with this...it's Really old." They all agreed. Ryan got on his bike and the rest got in Niccolo's car.
Ryan asked the cross to show him what happened to the Rabbi that day, and instantly he saw an older man walking out of the church with a rickety old bike. As the Rabbi rode off Ryan shouted 'Hey ben...' the man paused looked around then continued riding. Ryan took off after him.
Niccolo, Rachel, Leigh, and Eric followed Ryan's progress until the saw him stop on the edge of 93 and drop his bike. He began walking into the gridlocked traffic.
Ryan followed the 'ghost' (which only he was able to see) of the rabbi out into the inferno that had suddenly mushroomed into existance on route 93 southbound. He stood there for a moment and his skin started to blister. He watched the rabbi pick up some dirt from the side of the road mold it into something and hurl it into the blaze. As the earth sored through the air it began to expand and take on the shape of a person, the rabbit sent four golems total into the inferno the same way. The fifth time he tried it the dirt broke apart as it went flying in.
Ryan realizing that he was being injured by the flames allowed his perception to shift a little so that he could see the threads of the Tapestry. Grasping some of the threads of empty space nearby Ryan briaded a shield around His thread to protect him from further damage from the flame. While this was happening Ben had shucked off his cumbersome outer layer of cloaths and produced two swords from seemingly thin air. He dashed off into the flames.
Leigh seeing Ryan begin to get hurt reached out and formed a mental link with him, instantly imerseing her self in the Hell that was his world. Rachel began speaking with the spirits.
Realizing he was now protected from the flames Ryan dove through the wall of flames after the rabbi in time to see him fighting with something. It was a creature that Ryan couldn't quite wrap his mind around; but Ben quickly dispatched it. Then was jumped from behind by another crature that had two jackel heads, was bipedal and covered in tentacles.
The crew had now gotten out of the car as Ryan dove further into traffic, only Leigh really seeing what he was. Niccolo went to an obscured point on the car and poped a tire which he then began to change; the Others drifted off towards Ryan, trying to get him out of the road.
Ryan dove at the jackelthing and knocked it off the rabbi. He then proceded to pound on it with his fists as tentacle lashed at him.
The others watched Ryan dive across the hood of a car into another lane of traffic then start flailing at something. Niccolo glanced up and saw that ryan was actually IMPACTING with his fists and ran over to ryan charging the Tire iron in his hand with quint.
Hearing a vague voice calling his name Ryan looked up and caught the charged tire iron Niccolo had thrown him. At instant of his distraction the cratures managed to get a beaked tentacle into Ryan's shoulder, just as Ryan brought the iron down splinter one of it's heads into a pile of goo.
Leigh moved to beside niccolo and reached to heal the blood pouring out of Ryan's shoulder but dodged back to be away from the flying tire iron. She and Niccolo then boosted ryan's Adrenaline output so that the tire iron imbeded itself into the second head as tentacle wraped around it in a death grip.
Ryan then moved to get the rabbi out of the road and try to help him, forgetting that he was in the past, and the Rabbi began to beg to let him die.
After watching Ryan lurch around a bit, the others saw him put up his hand and start backing away from something. Ryan left the man on the ground, shocked and stumbling back. Leigh carried him back to the car and put him inside as Rachel and Eric bungee'd the bike to the roof, and Niccolo finished changing the tire.
They took him to a safehouse that Niccolo knew of in West roxbury and began planing their next move as Niccolo and Leigh cleaned up the wound and the boy, and put him to bed.
After a period of time Ryan sat bolt upright, drenched in sweat and shaking, he said "It's all gonna burn....the whole city."
Niccolo explained that this was just nerves and gave Ryan a drink.
The group went back to figureing out where to go next, and Niccolo offered to finance Ryan's learning how to shoot and own a pistol, and tach anyone else who wanted to know.
