The Twilight War: What we are looking at is Good and Evil..

6 AM, October 24. Ryan's phone rings. Ryan, tired and very, very sore reaches to answer it. It is Agent Smith. There is a breif discussion about what happened with mention that Rachel's grove bloomed again, over night. Agent Smith "asks" Ryan to meet him at the bagel shop in Harvard Square in 20 minutes.

Agent Smith then calls Agent Jones and tells her that he is picking her up at her Arlington house in 5. The two "M"iB arrive (via helicopter) in Harvard Square a few minutes later.

There is a breif disscussion where Agent Jones is introduced to Ryan and Ryan is told that all deviants are being shot on sight. For their protection, he is assigning Agent Jones to "assist" them. Smith leaves and Jones tells Ryan that she would like to meet with his associates. He goes back to get them and she waits in the coffee shop.

When Ryan returns home he informs Niccolo and Leigh of the situation. They are, needless to say, not pleased, but they come with him. Burko is no where to be found. There is a breif, tense meeting between the three members of the Burning Cabal and Agent Jones. In the end, Jones tells Niccolo that if he doesn't want to work with her, he does not have to and he leaves. During the discussion, it comes out that the Cabal members knew the person who was responcible for the disaster. There is discussion of demons and Nephandi that Jones doesn't buy. The others stay and they talk for a couple of minutes more before splitting up and agreeing to work towards finding out more about the Hancock.

Meanwhile, Burko has been off wandering Boston trying to find incipent fires and suppress them before they blow. He has the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time and one of the buildings he is trying to stop from burning blows up. This quickly attracts the attention of a MiB unit patrolling the area and he runs for it and winds up hiding in a children's clothing store (where DOES Rob get these things? :) ) For a while he uses no magick except his arcane and they miss him. Then they start turning over clothing racks. Burko decides to risk it and he casts invisibility on himself. That makes him immediatly obvious and he is quickly looking down the barrel of a MiB's gun. After a series of stunning dodge rolls, Burko escapes and flees into the sewers, shaking the MiB from his trail. He calls Niccolo and Nic goes and picks him up.

When Leigh and Ryan return home, they discover Nic tending to Burko's wounds. Once that is done, Nic dissappears, presumably into the basement, and he stays there for the rest of the session. While he is down there, he is doing something with a map of the metro Boston area. (OOC: I didnt catch what.)

Meanwhiles, upstairs, Ryan and Leigh open an impromptu hospital in Nic's house, handing out food and medical supplies and generally being Good People.

A few days pass. During that time, the death toll pushes 85,000, world stock markets have plummeted and martial law is declared in most major U.S. cities. There is endless speculation and few answers.

Also, during that time Ali talks to her S.O. Karen (formerly Alice but that is just too damned confusing) and finds out that one Joseph O'Malley, Curie '76 was president of the operations at the Prudential. Ali tries to find out more but everything that is had on him is beyond her security clearence. Jones also hears from Smith that one child deviant was wandering the city blowing things up. Jones goes back to the Ryan and Leigh and ask to talk to Burko.
Ryan and Leigh also discuss Leighs double soul, and how Sledge has become a part of her.

In the scene with Burko, Burko does his best to present himself as cute and harmless. Jones doesn't buy it. She is under the impression that he is highly dangerous. His explanations related to demons and so on clearly do not sit well with her. When Ryan and Leigh give Jones a few minutes of privacy with the kid, she leans across the table and "informs him" in no uncertain tones, that setting fires is wrong and that he will cease to do it. Leigh and Ryan return at that point and she tells them that she believes they have come to a satisfactory agreement.

Again the parties part. Ryan spends a day doing his tapestry stuff and he uncovers some very disturbing things about the Hancock and, in particular, one person who works there. The Hancock has been developing and distributing a street drug called Bliss. One of the people who works there has a thread that intertwines with Jones's and has for a long time. Meanwhile, between patients, Leigh pours through the web and finds out that the company at the Hancock is a pharmaceutical R&D firm, the one at the Pru was officially doing some sort of human genetics experiments (I think) and that they have interlocking directorates with the company rebuilding Trinity Church. They call for another meeting with Jones.

Jones arrives looking tired, Ryan and Leigh share what they learned. Jones is visibly disturbed. She does offer to do what she can to supply Ryan and Leigh with additional food and medical supplies, if she can lay her hands on them.
