The Twilight War: Regrets of the Dead

A breif foray into the deadlands...

The cast (I think I got this right):
Avon - Alexandra, an independant force whose luck had run out.
Chad - Chris, an ex-Heirarch and O'Malley's muscleman
Jeff - Joe, an 8 year old kid, newly dead
Megan - Yin Chow A student of O'Malley, despite religious differences
Sean - Father Jack O'Malley, an ex-catholic preist and well known
	Heretic

The night started with Joe struggling to free himself from the Caul.
The child emerges into the deadlands and begins to wander around,
trying to figure out what this strange, colorless place he finds
himself in is. After a while of wandering, he comes upon Alexandra.
He's never seen anyone with the strange black, unblinking eyes that
she has and he is scared of her. Alexandra knows that he is wandering
around an area that the Heirarchs patrol heavily and she tells the kid
that it is dangerous to wander around here. After some discussion, he
agrees to follow her and she leads him towards someone she's heard
will teach the Enfants, Father O'Malley.

Along the way, they dodge a patrol, walk a long time, and talk a bit
and eventually show up at a shack in the middle of no where, bearing
an unlit latern. Alexandra knocks and after a moment, the door is
opened by Chris - a large man bearing an even larger gun. Joe is
terrified and he takes off. Yin Chow and Alexandra go after him and
coax him back. Just before they all go into the shack, Alexandra
notices a bat-like thing with crystal body circling over the shack.
She recognizes it as soul forged creature for the Heirarchy (and when
she describes it to the others, they recognize it as well.)

Meanwhile, when O'Malley first sees Chris, he drops a handful of
sticks on the ground and stares at them. He then says that Chris is
The One. (which one, you ask?) This apparently means something to Yin
Chow and Chris. Alexandra shrugs it off as religious gobbledygook.
However, before a long discussion can happen, it is decided
that they should leave this place and go somewhere else. They join
hands and wrap the shadows around themselves and trek off on a long
walk back to closer to the center of the necropolis and they go to a
burned out church.

There, they hide and talk to Joe a bit more, trying to convince him
that he is in fact dead. The introduce him to money that screams, and
other fun deadpeopletricks. After a while, a single person wearing
heavy boots clumps into the Church. Everyone hides but Chris, who
stands there and is tough. A single Heirarch comes in asking for
Father O'Malley. Chris tries to deter him, but then Father O'Malley
steps forward. The Heirarch tells O'Malley that he is wanted for
questioning. O'Malley goes without a fight.

The others talk breifly about where to go and then decide to go to a
building across the street. About an hour and a half later, a whole
troup of Heirarchs come to burn down the Chruch. When the church has
gone to ashes, in the center there is a wavering point that is slowly
going. The group decides that this is a Bad Thing so they move again,
to a basement not far away that Alexandra knows.

After a while, Alexandra gets bored with the discussion. She's done
her bit - she's delivered the Enfant and child to someone who will
teach and protect him, religious crap aside. She lets her curiousity
get the better of her and she goes back to the weird thing at the
church to watch. By this point it has become an obvious nihil,
beginning to become an actual Malstrom. It is growing slowly but
noticably. She stands back and just watches what is going on, until
she sees a child, teetering on the edge. Maternal instincts kick in
and she Flickers to save the child but she misses and plunges into the
Nihil.

She starts trying to find her way out but she gets attacked by a
spectre. She evades one attack and heads off in what she thinks is
the right direction. Boy is she wrong.

Meanwhile, Yin Chow, Joe and Chris return to the Nihil. Joe is, at
this point, channeling the torture they are doing to Father O'Malley.
They catch a glimpse of Alexandra and decide they have to go help
her. (Ah...what a strange thing "loyalty" is.) So, Yin Chow and Chris
dive into the Nihil after her.

By this point, Alexandra is far away and has attracted quite a club of
spectres. She is rapidly weakening ahs she flagrently spends pathos
and will to evade the attacks. She has figured out that she is going
in the wrong direction and has turned around but the way out is far,
far away.

Yin Chow and Chris spot her but fail to be able help. They crawl out
of the chaos. Joe dives in and he goes after Alexandra, demonstrating a
sudden ability with Argos. He comes up to her just in time to see a
spectre with a huge sword slice Alexandra in half. Her corpus
vaporizes and is dispersed by the winds of the Malstorm (and Avon
demonstrates a phenomenal ability with killing characters....).

Joe turns his attention to the spectre that killed her and he gets
into a battle with it. The battle ends with Joe flying out of the
Maelstorm with one huge black sword that trails black light as it is
swung. He tells the others that Alexadra is dead and they go back to
the basement, set up some sort of force sheild against the storm and
slumber.

The next day, Father O'Malley is released by the Heirarchs. At this
point he is a gibbering madman, going on about how Joe is the One, how
he is Charon reborn. And it is time to take the throne. Now. Yin
Chow argues that they must wait and give the boy time to grow but he
is insistent on now.

And that is where we ended the game.
