It is the day after last session...

As we start, the cabal is having a morning conference. Ryan has been
typing all night and he has completed volumes 2 and 3 of the Giovanni
Epic.  Leigh took a field trip to Chinatown and scanned one of the KOE
there and discovered they are Bad People.  During the morning
conference, Ryan starts quizzing Burko about his childhood and Burko
has trouble giving anything other than vague answers.  Ali is not
there.

Plans are made for the day. Niccolo, Burko and Leigh plan to go to
Chinatown to talk to an Akashic there that Leigh knows.  Ryan calls
Ali and asks her to come over and pick up the rest of his epic.  

In Chinatown, Leigh, Niccolo and Burko have a meeting with the Akashic
(whose name I forget and I missed the details of this
exchange...Megan? Chad? Jeff? Anyone want to fill this in?).
He agrees that the people he is sheltering are prone to indiscretions
and if it becomes a problem they will be dealt with.  He also gives
Leigh a tea that will assure well being.  

After the talk, the three of them go out to Dim Sun.  While they are
eating, they notice a man who has been following them and they decide
he is a mugger.  Leigh and Niccolo decide to just let the guy try it.
They make a big show of giving Burko a $20 bill and then the two of
them go into the alley, pretending to be lovers.  Burko goes off and
burns the money (take that Golveg!). They guy walks off, apprently
deciding to try for a less bizzare target and Burko goes into the
alley.  The three of them go home and find Ryan gone.  

Meanwhile, Ali came to pick up the Giovanni stuff and Ryan asks her if
they could go to a private spot to talk.  She offers to take him to
HQ and use a conference room.  Ryan agrees. 

Ali brings Ryan into a conference room in the FBI area of the NWO
offices and after she dissappears to drop off v. 2 and 3 with Smith's
excutive assistant, Ryan starts to ask her about what information she
has turned up on Edward Burke.  She summarizes what she knows, which
is not a lot.  There is remarkably little to be said about him.  There
are no records of birth or adoption. No records of much of anything
before he comes onto the NWO's radar screens with the explosion of the
house in Belmont.  Ryan asks if there is anyone better at research
availible and Ali gives him a dirty look.  He then asks if the remains
that were recovered from the Belmont house were still in storage.  Ali
checks and they are.  He says that the leg is an exact replica of
Burko's leg.  After a bit of hemming and hawing, she orders DNA tests
on them and starts forensics going.  

Shortly after that, Agent Smith gives her a call and tells her that he
will see Mr. Kelly now.  

Ali leads Ryan through security and into the MiB part of the offices.
Agent Smith asks Ali if she has gone through the Giovanni stuff yet.
She stayed up most of the night working on it but has only gotten
through a third of the first book.  She says that she has started on
it.  Agent Smith then asks Ryan where he got the information.  Ryan
says he researched for hours.  Agent Smith asks how many hours.  Ryan
says 21.  

Agent Smith then says that the document bears a remarkable similiarity
to an internal investigation going on.  He then offers Ryan a job, on
the spot, as a senior researcher.  He says he doesn't care what
methods Ryan uses, so long as he produces results.  Ryan agrees.  Ali
watches this, somewhat startled, but definitly pleased and amused.
Ryan also asks if he can have somewhere else to live because Niccolo
isn't going to like this.  Agent Smith says that Ryan can be set up in
transient housing, if he wants but Ali points out that there is no
reason that Niccolo needs to know.  Ryan looks at her and then gets
it.

On the way out, they stop long enough for Ryan to give his thumbprint
and Ali to give Alvin, Smith's assistant, the password to the files
with all the paperwork already done.  Ali then takes Ryan back to the
house.  

Once they arrive, there is a fair bit of discussion about what to do
about Anthony Giovanni.  Niccolo calls to get an appointment.  He
reaches a lackey who takes a message. Meanwhile, Ali searches through
the Giovanni epics, now scanned and on her machine, for current
information.  Ryan goes upstairs to type about Burko, and Burko
appears with a new habit of chewing tabacco.  

Mid afternoon, Ali leaves and goes back to the office to work and the
others work on their plans for the Giovanni.  After sunset, they get a
phone call saying that he will meet Mr. Tserovich at 10.  Niccolo
calls Ali and asks her to come back.  She does.  He explains to her
that they are going to go to visit this fellow, does she want to come
along.  She decides to send a lackey.  She spends a moment on the
phone and about a minute later, a skater punk shows up at the door.
She greets him and explains that she wants him to go with these people
and record a conversation.  He then goes off to HQ for equipment.
Half an hour later, he returns and Nic, Leigh, Burko and the kid take
off to Connecticut.  

Ryan gives Ali the report he has generated on Burko and she tells him
the results of the DNA testing.  The case of the Belmont fires and
Edward Burke is reopened by the MiB.  

And there, we broke for the night.
